There is a stairway to the left of the gate. This Roman fortress measures 190 by 242 meters and covers 4.6 hectares. This site originally held 2,000 legionaires, which decreased to about 1,000. The main occupation period was the late 3rd to the early 4th century. This site was affected by the earthquake in 363 (Nancy Lapp notes)
