Title
Jordan. Amman, meeting with Promoting Governance and Citizenship in Palestine project
Description
The USAID Sustainable Cultural Heritage Through Engagement of Local Communities Project, implemented by ACOR, supported and participated in a number of special events, high-level meetings, lectures, and conferences from 2014 – 2018. Such events provided opportunities to exchange knowledge, develop and present policies and guidelines, plan collaborations, and strengthen the community of practice around Jordan’s heritage. November 28, 2018. SCHEP team members met with several projects from Palestine to highlight Jordanian tangible and intangible cultural heritage. The group selected USAID SCHEP as a pioneer community engagement and cultural heritage initiative to be used as a case study for a 2019 training for a group of primary stakeholders in the arena of cultural heritage preservation in Palestine, under the project “Promoting Governance and Citizenship in Palestine.” The project aims to strengthen Palestinian identity and citizenship through re-appropriation (research, preservation and promotion) of historical and cultural heritage.
