Description
The USAID Sustainable Cultural Heritage Through Engagement of Local Communities Project, implemented by ACOR, supported and participated in a number of special events, high-level meetings, lectures, and conferences from 2014 – 2018. Such events provided opportunities to exchange knowledge, develop and present policies and guidelines, plan collaborations, and strengthen the community of practice around Jordan’s heritage. In July 2018, SCHEP took part in the Third Annual USAID Monitoring Evaluation and Learning Conference/Expo and co-presented with its partner, the Wadi Rum Protected Area, about the use of GIS-based monitoring and evaluation applications in cultural heritage projects in Wadi Rum. Visitors who came to the SCHEP booth had the chance to learn more about project and to learn how to write their names in the Thamudic language.
