Description
The USAID Sustainable Cultural Heritage Through Engagement of Local Communities Project, implemented by ACOR, supported and participated in a number of special events, high-level meetings, lectures, and conferences from 2014 – 2018. Such events provided opportunities to exchange knowledge, develop and present policies and guidelines, plan collaborations, and strengthen the community of practice around Jordan’s heritage. The First Conference on the Archaeology and Tourism of the Ma’an Governorate was held at Hussein Bin Talal University on October 3-4 2017 and involved 33 participants from local and international universities and academic institutions. Presentations included a wide variety of topics on the archaeology and tourism of the Ma’an governorate. The conference also included a presentation that highlighted the work of USAID SCHEP.
