Title
Jordan. Amman, "From the Ground Up: Community Engagement in Rock Art Management in Wadi Rum," lecture by Kaelin Groom at ACOR.
Description
The USAID Sustainable Cultural Heritage Through Engagement of Local Communities Project, implemented by ACOR, supported and participated in a number of special events, high-level meetings, lectures, and conferences from 2014 – 2018. Such events provided opportunities to exchange knowledge, develop and present policies and guidelines, plan collaborations, and strengthen the community of practice around Jordan’s heritage. On August 21, 2017, Kaelin Groom, one of the directors of the SCHEP-supported Community-Based Rock Art and Epigraphic Recording (CBRAER) project, gave a lecture at ACOR discussing challenges facing rock art management in Wadi Rum and the different ways these issues were addressed through the SCHEP-supported project.
