Description
As part of the Management of Archaeological Heritage Strategy of Jordan (2023–2027), the American Center’s USAID-funded Sustainable Cultural Heritage Through Engagement of Local Communities Project (SCHEP) collaborated with the Wadi Rum Protected Area to offer a World Heritage Site-building program to professionals in the cultural heritage management and tourism sectors in Jordan. Recently, 16 participants from various organizations including the Department of Antiquities, Petra Archaeological Park, and the Baptism Site Commission, completed an intensive three-day training titled “State of Conservation Reports for World Heritage Properties.” This training aimed to build the capacities of Jordan's cultural heritage management and tourism sector and increase its self-reliance by teaching the participants how to effectively prepare and submit state of conservation reports to UNESCO. We are so grateful to them for their dedication to preserving and promoting Jordan's rich cultural and natural heritage!
