Description
Capacity building is an important part of the USAID SCHEP model for promoting the sustainable management of Jordan’s cultural heritage. From 2014 – 2018, SCHEP implemented training programs and workshops in skills related to cultural heritage conservation, management, interpretation, and presentation, for over 300 heritage professionals, recent graduates, local community members, and others. In order to sustain and further develop the skills of four trainees from the DOA and the Petra Tourism and Development Region Authority after their completion of the Diploma Course in Surveying and Archaeological Heritage Documentation, SCHEP organized a course in Geographic Information System (GIS) software to supplement this intensive training. This GIS training was held at Infograph in Amman.
