Description
Between 2014 and 2018, USAID SCHEP’s awareness program sought to bring together communities and strengthen bonds, while also educating children, youth, adults, and families about their local cultural heritage and the importance of preserving it. To this end, SCHEP implemented educational workshops, field trips, and events, with an emphasis on hands-on learning and direct participation. Following a successful collaboration in 2017, SCHEP partnered with the Ministry of Education in 2018 to participate in the “Bassma” camp, which aims to strengthen national identity through a variety of programs, activities, workshops, and other events. The project supported awareness activities for around 3,000 students from eight schools near SCHEP sites in Bayt Ras, Madaba, Umm al Jimal, Ghawr as Safi, Busayra, and Aqaba.
