Description
Capacity building is an important part of the USAID SCHEP model for promoting the sustainable management of Jordan’s cultural heritage. From 2014 – 2018, SCHEP implemented training programs and workshops in skills related to cultural heritage conservation, management, interpretation, and presentation, for over 300 heritage professionals, recent graduates, local community members, and others. The international consortium in Bayt Ras held a specialized training course on the documentation of wall paintings for 14 participants from the DOA, PAP, and other young professionals in October 2017. Including both theoretical and practical aspects, trainees were able to test out their new skills in the Bayt Ras Roman Theater. The training was led by experts from the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS).
