As part of its support for local heritage and tourism projects throughout Jordan, ACOR, through its USAID SCHEP project, has been working over recent months with the Tourism Association for the Development of Archaeological Sites in Al Smakieh, Al Karak. The Tourism Association for the Development of Archaeological Sites is a Jordanian non-profit organization that aims to promote and preserve antiquities and heritage in the town of Al-Smakieh, in addition to working to increase tourism and involvement of the local community to establish long-term economic sustainability in the town.
