In November 2020, ACOR USAID SCHEP was represented at the annual meeting of the American Schools of Oriental Research (ASOR), held virtually due to the coronavirus pandemic. SCHEP-supported projects in Madaba, in partnership with the Madaba Regional Archaeological Museum Project (MRAMP), were the focus of a panel discussion as part of a workshop on Preserving the Cultural Heritage of the Madaba Region of Jordan. SCHEP’s chief of party, Nizar Al Adarbeh, and deputy chief of party, Jehad Haron, spoke at the workshop alongside other Jordanian, American, and Italian heritage experts. Mr. Al Adarbeh also presented on “Integrated Natural-Cultural Heritage Management at the World Heritage Sites of Petra and Wadi Rum” in the session “Cultural Heritage: Preservation, Presentation, and Management.”
