From August 23– 27, 2020, ACOR USAID SCHEP conducted a training on Essential Communication Skills for 13 employees of the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA), in partnership with AMIDEAST as part of the English Language Capacity Building Program. The aim of this course was to provide the participants with essential English-language communication skills to aid their work in the Petra Museum and the Visitor Center. The participants graduated with new skills, including greeting and welcoming tour groups in English, conducting a basic museum tour in English, answering tourists’ questions, and describing artifacts and objects in the museum.
