Description
In 2019, the Neolithic archaeological site of Ain Ghazal was threatened with destruction due to the construction. Responding to a proposal from the Department of Antiquities, ACOR USAID SCHEP provided financial and technical support to the DOA to complete rescue excavations at the site, beginning in October 2019 and ending in early December. In 2020, these excavations continued with the support of SCHEP, the Greater Amman Municipality, and the Ministry of Public Works. As part of its support for these excavations, SCHEP conducted aerial photography of the site to document the work and the archaeological layers being uncovered.
