On August 28, 2019, ACOR USAID SCHEP signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) in Wadi Rum. This agreement was built on previous collaboration between SCHEP and ASEZA, and details areas of cooperation over the next three years, outlining joint efforts to strengthen sustainable tourism in both Aqaba and Wadi Rum and to empower local communities to benefit economically from their cultural heritage resources. The agreement was signed on behalf of ACOR by Director Barbara A. Porter, and on behalf of ASEZA by HE Mr. Nayef Bakhit.
